My relationship with design began long before I had the language or training for it. As a child, I would stay up late at night rearranging my bedroom furniture—shifting the bed, moving a lamp, restyling a shelf. It wasn’t just for aesthetics. It was survival. In a home where I didn’t always feel safe, rearranging my room gave me something I could control. It gave me comfort, stability, and a way to carve out a space that felt like mine.

That instinct to create safety through environment stayed with me. As I grew older, it evolved into flipping furniture, tackling DIY projects, experimenting with styling, and noticing how each decision—where a chair was placed, how light fell in a corner, the colors on the walls—changed how I felt. Design was never superficial to me. It was a way to build peace in the midst of chaos.

Welcome, I'm Emily

I studied with the Interior Design Institute in Vancouver, took on solo projects, and later worked as an in-house designer at a construction company. Those experiences gave me the practical skills—floor plans, estimating, finishes, trade coordination—but they also deepened my respect for the intersection of creativity and structure.

House of Daisy Design is the culmination of that story. It’s not just about creating beautiful spaces—it’s about creating homes that feel safe, grounding, and personal. I specialize in character homes, soulful renovations, and interiors that aren’t dictated by trends, but by the people who live in them.

For me, luxury isn’t about price. It’s about intention. It’s about designing a home that reflects who you are, supports your daily life, and evolves with you over time. My philosophy is anti-trend, pro-soul. I believe a home should feel like a deep exhale when you walk in, and that every choice—from layout to lighting to styling—should serve both function and feeling.

At its core, my work is about more than design. It’s about giving people what I was always searching for as a child: a space that feels safe, honest, and wholly their own.

More than just pretty spaces.
